Think it’s easy inventing clever names for all these lists and catalogs? I’ve had to do it 298 times already, and I’m getting burned out. All I could come up with for this one were corny titles such as “Spring Cleaning.” Then I stopped for a moment and thought about what I was actually doing. (Sometimes a great notion, always a good idea!)
What I’m actually doing here is clearing the deck – getting a passel of lesser books taken care of before starting work on Maritime List 300. It’s a big number, 300, a very real number. And it promises to be a momentous one. I’ve stashed away a marvelous selection of rare and important manuscripts and books with which to fill my tri-centennial catalog.
But first I need to catalog and sell a little more of the last of the Howland material, in order to make space for the shelf of rares that I’ve saved for list 300. This operation – cleaning up leftover books – is more like due diligence than “Spring Cleaning.” So I’m just gonna call List 299 “Due Diligence” and get on with it Nothing fancy here, folks, just some good solid maritime reading.
As with all our lower-end lists, we’ll be charging for postage on this one – $7.50 for the first book, $5 for each additional title, with large and overseas orders billed at cost. And, as always, we suggest that you order by email – to tenpound@tenpound.com, or through the “Contact” tab on our home page. These electronic messages are time stamped and readily answered. Telephone communication is a little less certain, but may be attempted by dialing (978) 283-5299.
Now, onto list 300!
