Trade Card and Schedule for De Bary Merchant’s Line.
In the 1870s Frederick De Bary moved to Florida and started up a freight and passenger line with side-wheeler steamers purchased – used – from New England. In 1881 he incorporated as the De Bary Merchant’s Line. At that time he secured a contract to carry the mail from his home port in Jacksonville to Enterprise and other ports enroute. This card, printed on both sides in two colors, contains schedule and routing information. It measures 6 x 4 1/2 inches.
