Item #46140
The Yachtsmen of New England, 1890.
Anon.
W.H. Couillard, ( 1890), Boston
Oblong format, 22.5 cm. 138 pp. b/w halftone photo plates, b/w ads, color flag plates.
Price: $200

Apparently a periodical issued between the 1880s and the early 1900s, all issues are quite scarce, only 3 libraries holding any of them on Worldcat. The book includes 24 New England yacht clubs, with lists of members and yachts, and full-page color plates of club flags from the 19 clubs that submitted them for publication. Also wonderful illustrated ads from yachting-related firms, and b/w yacht portraits by W.H. Stebbins, who also runs a full page ad in this issue. Bound in limp leather with gold lettering, all edges gilt. This copy shows edge wear and is in good condition only. However, all the text, photos, and flag plates are clean. Scarce! No copies available online.
