Ashton, a Marblehead fisherman, was captured by pirates off the coast of Nova Scotia in 1723. They marooned him on an uninhabited island in the Gulf of Honduras where he lived until his rescue in 1724. He wrote a book about his adventures which was published in Boston in 1725. This little pamphlet tells the story by means of excerpts from the text of Ashton’s book. It sports a duotone “tropical” cover and the legend “A Real Robinson Crusoe of Marblehead,” and was probably a promotional piece for the Lindsey printing firm. A scarce and ephemeral item, Worldcat showing only 7 libraries holding copies. Very good condition
