The Shipwreck; or, Humanity Rewarded.
J. Babcock & Son, ( 1820), New Haven
16mo, 11 cm. 30, (1) pp. b/w engraved frontispiece and title page cut.
This is one of the scarcer Babcock juveniles. Typical of its genre, it features cautionary tales about bad things that can happen to boys at sea, and God’s mercy in saving us from them (bad things, not boys). Worldcat shows only 9 libraries holding copies. Not in Huntress. Tanned and soiled, bound in paper decorated with an interesting sort of wallpaper pattern. First leaf trimmed with loss of a few letters. Fair condition only.
