From Their Origin to the Establishment of Their Chief Tribe at Sierra Leone: Including the Expedition to Cuba, From the Purpose of Procuring Spanish Chasseurs; And the State of the Island of Jamaica for the Last Ten Years: With a Succinct History of the Island Previous to that Period. Runaway slaves established settlements inland in Cuba and Jamaica. They were successful enough to force the British to negotiate treaties with them. With two folding maps – one of the island of Jamaica, and “A map of the interior part of Jamaica, called the Cock-Pits, which was the seat of the Maroon War in 1795 and 1796.” First edition, Sabin 18322.
