Facsimile reprint of an important tract first published in London in 1630, about the establishment of the colony at Salem, Mass. of which Higginson was the minister. The “Introduction” gives background and also a bibliography of the first three editions of this work, as well as locating extant copies. With helpful notes and index. A handsome book, designed by Bruce Rodgers, and published in an edition of only 175 copies, for the Essex Book and Print Club. Near fine condition. Bound as issued in black cloth over boards in publisher’s slipcase which has spilt at top and bottom seams.
