Bayside Yacht Club, ( 1915), Bayside, LI, NY
26 cm. Unpaginated (about 50 pp.) Duotone cover ill. b/w ads in text.
Sorry, folks, it’s not midget wrestling. In 1914 two club members at Bayside YC decided to pen a comic opera, and “Micro-mania” was the result. An article in the April 10, 1915 issue of “Brooklyn Life” characterizes the musical as “tuneful and decidedly interesting.” According to this article, the dates on the program – April 29 – May 1 – were the opening performances. Apparently, it never got any father than that. This program tells the story, presents the cast, and gives a little history on the yacht club. It is notable also for its dozens of pages of illustrated ads for local businesses. With a ticket for opening night laid in. Back wrap has sticker marks from its scrapbook removal, otherwise in very good condition.
