American edition of a novel first published in England in 1770. See Evans 32122 (Showing only AAS holding a copy). Scarce in the trade. This copy is ex-lib Forbes Library, with their perforated stamp on the title page and no other markings. Bound in contemporary full calf with spine label. Binding is worn, label chipped. Front hinge cracked but holding. Pages of both volumes are evenly tanned with scattered foxing. Good condition overall.
