Being a collection of illustrations of authentic productions of the model makers art of that period, gathered from many sources, together with brief descriptions and identifications thereof where possible. See McDonald 474, who calls it “Culver’s best selection of the best 17th century models.” This is #442 in a limited edition of 1000 copies. Bound as issued, in vellum over blue boards with “Ship Model Society” logo in gold. Vellum lightly soiled. This copy is inscribed by Rockport Mass. artist Harrison Cady to his “much esteemed and cherished friend,” sculptor and artist Ulysses Ricci. Friendship aside, there must’ve been a local connection between the two, since Ricci’s work is included in several Rockport Art Association auctions.
