Fifth edition. To which is added, an appendix containing a safe and easy method to cure the venereal disease. Handley was a surgeon in the Royal Navy and VD was as much a topic of interest as “the cure of tumors ulcers, wounds, fractures, and dislocations” also advertised on the title page. Rare. Nothing but reprints online. Worldcat shows only the Wellcome Library holding a copy of this edition. Bound in cloth over marbled heavy paper boards. Hand lettered title on front board, which is detached but present. Ownership inscription of “Joseph Mason August 23 1783” on title page.
