First edition. Leavitt, a Yale grad, was an attorney in Greenfield, Mass. This summary is broken into five historical periods, each with its own laws, between 1692 and 1810. Sabin 39559. Attractively bound in contemporary sheep over marbled boards with paper cover label. Front board detached but present. Ex libris Essex Institute, with their bookplate on front pastedown, small call number on “Introduction” page, and no other markings in text. According to OCLC, this is a rare book, with only the British Library holding a hard copy.
