350 Medical Receipts: for Families, Seamen, and Travellers.
La Grange, Louis.
Rand, Avery & Co., ( 1872), Boston
From the most approved medical works and the best physicians in this country and Europe Actually, and somewhat strangely, there are only 346 maladies and remedies listed, rather than the advertised 350 – alphabetically, from “1. Age” to “346. Vomiting”. The author recommends brandy or laudanum for seasickness (#276). “For a child it is sometimes sufficient to wet a cloth with laudanum, and lay it upon the pit of the stomach. Morphine is sometimes even better than laudanum.” (I’ll say!) Deservedly scarce, with no copies for sale online and, according to Wordlcat, only AAS holding a copy. Very good condition in cloth over printed stiff wrappers.
