Pretty good amateur draftsmanship portraying, in black ink on heavy sheets, humorous aspects of life in the US Navy during WW I. The artist clearly has inside information on naval doings, as various cartoons are dedicated to particular individuals – presumably informants about naval life. An inscription on the final page tells the story: “All these sketches were drawn by Mrs. Dwight W. Wise… for Linwood Lantz Curtis, Ensign, USNR, who graduated from the Naval Academy… May 29 – 1918.” The final cartoon and inscription announce the end of the war.
