Maritime List 379 – Pretty Darned Good

September 1, 2026 By

Every once in a while the stars align. Not much else to say about this list, a selection of 35 rare books and manuscripts assembled from recent road trips. It’s a pretty darned good lot of material, in my humble estimation.

(By the way, I think people should stop saying they’re “humbled” when they receive recognition or an award. It implies that they were conceited jerks prior to that recognition. Bad optics in my humble estimation.)

As usual, we will pay postage on all items shipped within the US. To order a book, please send an email to us at tenpound@tenpound.com listing item number, author and title. Best not to telephone, as I’m frequently out of the office and rely on time-stamped emails to keep everything first come, first served.
