Nielsen, a Dane, emigrated to the US in 1925 and began working for the John G. Alden company. In 1936, he became designer for Sparkman-Stephens. After WW II he struck out on his own and produced a number of double-ended cruising yachts inspired by Danish craft. As befits Nielsen’s growing reputation, this book – thoroughly researched by Bray and Jackson – was co-published by the Peabody-Essex Museum. First edition. About fine in dust jacket.
