14 cm. 180 pp. b/w wood-engraved frontispiece and five plates

A rare illustrated account of Anson’s voyage for children. Hill notes “this account is likely abridged from the official account, Richard Walter’s “A Voyage Round the World”… The first edition of the condensed version was published in Dublin in 1821.” See Hill 1783, citing a later reprint. Sabin 101191 also citing later appearances. Neither Sabin nor Hill mention the five plates. Rare. Sabin cites a copy in the British Museum. Worldcat shows only Tulane University holding a copy. Bound in full sheep. Front board detached but present. With the bookplate of noted philanthropist (Bobst Library at NYU, etc.) and notorious antisemite Elmer Holmes Bobst.
