A detailed coast pilot, this work is notable for its views of coastal features, lighthouses and light ships. Twenty-five plates and maps in all (as called for), some of which are colored or colored in outline, many folding. The large folding frontispiece chart of Liverpool Bay, 64 x 50 cm., is foxed, tanned along folds, and has a repair on a lower fold, with slight loss of image. All other charts and plates are in good to very good condition. Bound in publisher’s textured cloth, with backstrip laid down. Gold lettering on front board and backstrip. This is a scarce book in the trade, and Worldcat shows only five libraries in the US holding copies.
