Civil War drives a southern abolitionist minister to China, where he takes a position as Consul at Amoy. This is his spunky, independent daughter’s journal. An added benefit of her China sojourn was that she met her husband on the voyage home. He was first mate on the ship that brought them back to America. A lively story and a pretty book. Very good condition.
