No date, but probably late 1970s. Sociological study of Point Judith fishermen’s wives and families, sponsored by a NOAA grant. Section I describes the job, section II talks about the wives and families. The third section, “The Future” is poignant in what it could not possibly have predicted – that the industry as they knew it then would be virtually destroyed by the 21st century. Still, there are foreshadowings; an air of tension existed even then. One woman said, “Fishing is a political football.” In illustrated stiff wrappers. Very good condition.
