The new Iron Pier was built in the early 1880s. According to a pre-opening article in the “New York Times” the pier boasted “three balconies for sightseers… connected with the towers. The entire pier will be roofed and there will be a ball-room, restaurants and spacious promenades.” Bill of fare in decorative type on verso.
