Narrative of 1849 cruise against slave trade. “The book was influential in its day in arousing sentiment against the slave traffic.” – Smith “American Travellers” F46. See also Smith “American Navy” II, 2421. Bound in publisher’s decorated cloth, which shows light wear. A stain intrudes on the outer margin of the last 100 pages of the book, with scattered foxing throughout. A good copy.
